WIP - Upgrading Movement & Camera Control

One of my biggest notes of feedback for the game was that the combat wasn’t very engaging, as well as frustrations with the movement and camera control (namely that the player couldn’t move backward and the camera was entirely static). I’ve been working on upgrading the combat system to feel a bit more like a Hack-n-Slash style game in order to feel more dynamic.

The above video is a work in progress of what I have added:

  • Combo attacks (max 3)
  • 5 different possible weapons with unique stats
  • damage popUps (for a more ‘gamey’ feel)
  • collider-based damage to hit multiple enemies while moving
  • full, dynamic movement
  • combat rolling/dodging
  • Dynamic camera movement
    • scroll to zoom in/out
    • middle mouse button to pan/look around
    • Dictate “height” of camera angle
  • Cleaner and better-implemented vaulting/wall scaling

There is still lots more to be worked on of course, especially when it comes to enhancing animations and combo options, but I’d love to hear what you all think about these changes, if there is anything else I should look to change or add, or comments on the existing changes.
